The Big Picture
The planet isn't running out of drama — it's running out of forest. Since 1990, the world has lost around 489 million hectares — an area larger than the European Union — and we're still clearing close to 10 million hectares a year, planting slower than we cut.
There are more of us every year. More homes, more land cleared, more of everything. It's a simple equation: a growing world takes more, so it has to give back more, or the balance breaks.
The thing people struggle to see.
Carbon is invisible. It has no weight in the hand, no colour, no smell. That's why it's so easy to ignore — and so easy for others to lie about. The forest cleared for the thing you bought is a continent away. The cost is real; it's just never in the room with you.
PZI's whole purpose is to bring it into the room. To make the invisible real — trees you can count, ground you can name, a plaque you can stand beside.
A forest our children can walk in.
We want our children to have a real forest to walk in — near enough to visit, not a thousand miles away behind a fence. To stand under trees we chose to plant. That's the future we're funding: not a number on a certificate, a place they can actually go.
