Most carbon programmes are invisible. You pay money into something you cannot see, cannot check, and cannot prove to anyone. PZI is different in every way.
STEP 1 — Join in two minutes. Choose your vehicle size. Pay annually. No hidden fees. No automatic renewal without your consent.
STEP 2 — Your badge. Crafted from heavyweight recycled card, finished by hand, delivered by mail.
STEP 3 — Your certificate. Your membership, the plantation, the hectares — named and documented. Our founding plantation is registering under the Verra VCS standard, the most rigorous widely used carbon methodology in the world. As verification milestones are reached, your certificate records them.
Your membership funds real plantations on real land — beginning with our founding partner in Sri Lanka, where every hectare is mapped, measured, and accounted for. Together they offset the majority of your vehicle's annual emissions. No programme on earth can honestly claim 100%. We will not be another one to lie to you.
And Sri Lanka is only the beginning. We are working toward purchasing land here in Australia — planting natives, restoring what was cleared, building living reserves that belong to every Australian. Ground you can drive past. Ground your children can stand on. That is where your membership is headed.
That is what your membership does. Not a gesture. Not a rounding exercise. A measured, growing act of restoration — in your name, compounding with every year you stay.
The honest truth about flight offsets
You have seen the offers. Offset your return flight to Perth — twenty dollars. It sounds good. It is, for the most part, hollow.
No one can tell you the exact carbon cost of a single flight. It shifts with the aircraft, the wind, the weight of all it carries. Those who quote you a precise figure at a bargain price are selling a certainty that does not exist — and buying the cheapest credits on earth to do it. Unrated. Unverified. Too often worthless. A comforting number on a screen, tied to ground that may do nothing at all.
We will not play that game.
PZI funds the substantial majority of your flight's estimated emissions — named plainly as an estimate, because that is what it is. We will never claim to have balanced your flight to the decimal, for no honest hand can. What we do instead is simple: we put your contribution into carbon that is real — drawn only from the most reputable, independently rated growers we can find, while we extend our own land here in Australia, hectare by hectare.
That is the difference. They sell a comforting number. We fund real, verified, growing ground — and tell you the truth about what it can, and cannot, promise.
One of those is offsetting. The other is only marketing.
On the matter of numbers.
We will never tell you the exact weight of carbon your car returns to the earth. Not because we haven't measured — but because no honest soul can.
Consider the ground itself. One hectare of living land may draw down a hundred tonnes; another, in richer soil beneath kinder skies, five hundred. Sunlight, rainfall, the species that take root, the slow patience of years — each bends the number past any man's certain reckoning. The same is true of a single flight: its true cost shifts with the aircraft, the winds, the weight it carries. Those who quote you a precise figure are not measuring. They are guessing, and dressing the guess in the clothes of certainty.
We will not do that to you.
What we offer instead is older and simpler than a spreadsheet: honest work, on real ground, done in good faith. Your membership does not buy a number. It buys hectares that live and breathe and grow — measured as faithfully as the science allows, and never pretended beyond it. You give what you can. The land does what it does. And between the two stands a promise we are able to keep, because we have refused to build it on one we cannot.
The world is loud with those who claim to have balanced the books of the sky to the last decimal. We are not among them. We would rather tell you the truth — that the earth keeps its own accounts, in its own time — and then go and plant, and let the growing speak.
Offsetting is the maths. The land is the point.
